“When I first started college, I was terrified. I had no idea who I was, nor who I could be. The first person I made a connection with—the first person I trusted to help me—was Tia. Each week that I met with her, I became more confident and social and less anxious. She listened to me, respected me, and never once made me feel silly or crazy. Over the past three years, she has taught me countless essential skills, such as how to make friends, overcome my anxiety, prioritize myself and my needs, and advocate for what I need in uncomfortable situations. I have loved college since, and I truly believe that many of my positive experiences are due to Tia’s consistent support and honest belief in me.” - M.D.
